What is The Australian Centre of Excellence for Post-Traumatic Stress (ACEPTS)?

Australian Centre of Excellence PTSThe Australian Centre of Excellence for Post-Traumatic Stress (ACEPTS) is co-located with clinical care at the Jamie Larcombe Centre in Glenside South Australia – a specialist hospital for service related Post-Traumatic Stress, paving the way for research that can be translated into improved care and recovery for veterans, emergency service personnel and their families.

Coordinated by The Road Home, the centre provides a research space for national and international researchers to conduct their work (with relevant project and ethics approvals). It also provides a space for collaboration and an opportunity for researchers working on interventional therapies to work closely with patients and staff.

As part of The Road Home’s commitment to the planning procedure when the Jamie Larcombe Centre was first conceived, participants who were engaged in the planning process now form part of the ACEPTS research advisory committee. This group will work collaboratively to consider the gaps and opportunities for research in this area, helping to shape the future of research outcomes. The research advisory committee is chaired by Dr Sam Crompvoets, who is also on The Road Home’s Board of Governors.

The Road Home and the Australian Centre of Excellence for Post-Traumatic Stress (ACEPTS) is proud to present the Global Alliance Conference on Post-Traumatic Stress. The conference aims to showcase the latest research, effective models of care for trauma, the power of collaboration and future directions for the wellbeing for veterans, first responders and their families.
